In 1989, Dr. Mark Johnston, a recent graduate of the University of Manitoba’s dentistry program, became an associate at the Garden City location. In 2006 he became a partner, and in the same year he bought both locations from Dr. Watson, renaming them as Dental Image Therapy Centres. Dr. Johnston operated the clinics under the philosophy that if you treat your staff right and treat your patients right, business will take care of itself. He thought it was important to be active in the communities surrounding the clinics – to build a connection and to lend a helping hand whenever possible.
Those philosophies are carried forward to our staff today through our current partners, Dr. Donald Dziewit, Dr. Linda Simpson and Dr. Patrick McManus.
“I have been going to Dental Image for 25 years. The staff are caring, kind and friendly.”

We’re proud to give back to our community by volunteering to provide dental services regularly throughout the year at Siloam Mission.
Siloam has an excellent dental care facility (the Saul Sair Health Clinic) on the main floor of their Princess Street building. It is staffed by volunteer dental professionals who offer services as varied as cleanings and fillings to more involved procedures such as root canals. These services are one of the only ways many homeless people in our city are able to access dental care.
Dental Image Therapy Centres sends teams of dentists, dental assistants and hygienists several times a year to help out.
Our dentists take time every year to visit schools in Winnipeg and area to talk about dental careers and oral health in general.
We have provided free dental health presentations along with free oral health supplies to children in daycares up to middle school. Some of the places we’ve visited include the Morrow Day Care and St. George School’s Health Fair.
Our team also participated in the Wellness Fair at the Manitoba Youth Centre in 2018, bringing information about the importance of oral health to employees.
Besides volunteering our time to visit schools and wellness fairs, we also publish our Ask a Dentist blog. Once a week we post answers to common questions people have about dentistry and oral health. Some of our blog posts reach tens of thousands of people all over the world who are searching for information on topics as varied as how to deal with a chipped tooth, whether vaping is bad for your teeth, and should you use charcoal to clean your teeth.
We’re proud of our city and happy to give back to the communities we serve in many ways. We donate dental health supplies like toothbrushes and toothpaste to schools, daycares and charities. We’re also called on to support other causes from time to time either through volunteering, or monetary and in-kind donations. If you or your organization wants to inquire about our donations policy, please contact us.
We are here to work with you to achieve your dental goals. We strive to do that in a professional manner which leaves you feeling comfortable, confident and happy.
